在学生へのインタビュー(王 彦昌さん)

王 彦昌さん 2020年度 博士課程進学

Yanchang Wang, Doctor course student from 2020

Q1. Where are you from?

I brought up in Liaoning prefecture, China.

I graduated from Dalian JiaoTong University, Material science and Engineering School in 2016 and got my master’s diploma at Kyoto University in 2020

Q2. Why did you decide to enter our lab?

After going through the four major chemistry studying during my undergraduate years, I found myself very interested in physical chemistry especially the electrochemical part. So, I did my best and got an opportunity to participate in a group doing research on PEFC in 2014. The first time I knew Professor Uchimoto was when I did the literature survey and Prof. Uchimoto was the leader of the advanced analysis technology development group at RISING Project. Relying on the use of synchrotron radiation light source many atomic-level reaction mechanisms can be directly observed which shocked and attracted me a lot. Furthermore, the assistant professors in Uchimoto lab are outstanding in their own fields. For these reasons, I believe this is the best choice to join in Uchimoto lab.

Q3. How do you feel our lab?

In the field of electrochemistry, everyone knows Uchimoto lab.

Adhering to the “spirit of freedom” of Kyoto University, everyone can choose the research topics that interest in. Core time is not regulated in our lab which means everyone could do research in their path. Every year, there are lots of opportunities to join in domestic or foreign academic conferences and make it possible to discuss with excellent scholars face to face. Because stuffs in our lab are very good at English and there are many international students, it is also very helpful for English learning while discussing the experiment.
