For attending the 21st International solid state ionic conference in my country, we went to the Pyeongchang, where had held the Winter Olympic sports game. Even if this place was so countryside area in Korea, it not only makes us rest for a while beyond the daily routine but concentrates on the conference.

The conference was fantastic~! especially, I could see and hear the presentation of famous researchers as the author in the papers I have been read. Through these presentations, I understand the research trends related to the materials research of the battery area. The interesting thing was many research contents about garnet-structured solid electrolyte which researched during my master students. In that time, it had a big problem of high interfacial resistance between solid electrolyte and electrode. This issue has been blocked the usage of the oxide-based solid electrolyte although their ionic conductivity has a high value. however, many solutions in order to overcome those problems were suggested by many researchers. Of course, the sulfide solid electrolyte’s research, which is my current research topic, had been also presented in this meeting. However, to be fair, I just feel the lack of smaller contents of sulfide materials than that of oxide materials. The biggest issue in this meeting was consisted of the cathode materials such as Li-rich and Ni-rich like layered materials and the alleviating the interfacial resistance between solid electrolyte and electrode.

Although I had just attended without research contents, I will try to do effort research for my next expected conference with my research accomplishment~!
